Bob Fraser

Artist, Teacher, Demonstrator

Mr. Fraser (Bob) is a Salem, MA artist who has been painting for over 30 years in the “new” acrylic medium. His paintings capture the mood, light and feeling of familiar New England locale’s in a style that is at once representational and freely expressive.

Bob works on canvas or board, starting with house painting brushes, gradually working down to smaller and smaller artists brushes, and often ending up painting with a toothpick for the finest details.  He generally begins “en plein air” (working outdoors, on location) and finishes up details later back at the studio.  His preferred technique of working with acrylics “wet on wet” gives his works the smooth look of oil paintings.

Bob demonstrates, teaches and paints primarily on commission from his home/studio on Salem Harbor, and is represented at the Danvers Art Association’s Williams Danversport Gallery on Route 62 (www.danversart.org). Bob studied intensively under well known artist and illustrator, Phil Perkins of Lynnfield, MA.  He currently serves as Vice President of the Danvers Art Association and the Lynnfield Art Guild, and is an active member in the Greater Lynn Arts and Crafts Society.
